Macau Grand Prix starts ... NOW!

13.11.2013

Another week, another challenge. This weekend Kevin takes part in the most prestigious F3 race on the Globe: Macau F3 Grand Prix.

Classof 2013 at Macau Grand PrixThere are two factors which make Macau F3 GP unique. Firstly the 6.2-kilometre-long Guia street circuit which consists of two contrasting halves: three ultra-long straights at the waterfront linked together with fast bends and a twisty and narrow section in the hills above the port. This makes Guia circuit extremely challenging and the list of F3 winners reminds the “Who’s Who in Motor Racing”: Ayrton Senna, John Nielsen, Andy Wallace, David Brabham, Michael Schumacher, David Coulthard, Rickard Rydell, Ralf Schumacher, Takuma Sato if to name only a few. Man, even multiple F1-champions like Mika Häkkinen and Sebastian Vettel were not able to win there!

It is also worth of mentioning that this year Macau Grand Prix celebrates its 60th anniversary.

Kevin made his Macau debut last year but preparations were far from ideal that time. This year he have had even dedicated tests, although Kevin’s weekend at F3 European Championship was cut short by technical glitches and an amok-running competitor. Then, experience is what counts in Macau and Kevin is no more rookie. Last year his speed during practice surprised even himself but the weekend was effectively spoilt by stalling at the dummy grid for qualification race. That meant P21 on the grid for main race and despite overtaking being notoriously difficult in Macau he still managed to climb to 13th.

Like in 2012 Kevin is driving for Galaxy Double R Racing again, his Dallara-Mercedes bearing #21 this time. And here is how everything will happen in Macau (all times CET):
