Races! Finally!

Second meeting of 2013 GP3 season begins tomorrow in Valencia.

It’s somehow a strange season, that of GP3 in 2013. First races took place on May 12-13, which by modern standards is rather late in the year. But hey, then it became even more strange as they had five-weeks-break to the next meeting! OK, there was a two-day test meantime which was called “mid-session-test“. Mid-session after the first meeting? Then, who cares? In any case it was Kevin who ruled day 1 at Hungaroring, posting the fastest time.

Anyway, now the waiting is over and action resumes today in Valencia. Races in the third-largest city of Spain have been integral part of GP3 since the inaugural season in 2010 but this time there is a big change. F1 no more races for the European Grand Prix on the Valencia street circuit and so GP3 moved to a permanent venue called Circuit Ricardo Tormo aka Circuit de Valencia. And more than that, it is the only stand-alone GP3 meeting of the year, all other races are a part of F1 Grand Prix weekends.

Opening weekend in Barcelona was not the brightest one for Kevin but he still keeps P5 in standings and has already visited the podium. And while being fastest on the test-day in not any guarantee for a success it still tells its story about how good the driver is and how his team can set the car up. So, keep fingers crossed for Kevin!

Pay attention to the fact that qualification will be run on Saturday and both races take place on Sunday.
