Kevin shattered the lap record at Aragón by 4.5 seconds

18.04.2012

Kevin started penultimate test-day at Motorland Aragón in style posting second-best laptime in the morning session. He clocked 1:39.760 on his fastest of 37 laps. New-for-2012 car demonstrated its might once again as he shoved more than 4.5 seconds off his official track record 1:44.325 from 2011. On his way Kevin was also the first driver to beat Daniel Ricciardo's unofficial track record of 1:42.237.

Afternoon session begun with start procedure practice and ended with 11th rank for Kevin. He rounded the 5344-meter Aragón circuit 40 times with 1:40.375 remaining his best. Obviously teams and drivers were on different programs which means ultimate pace over the fastest lap may not be the one and only indicator of their respective forms.
